How you will make an impact

You will be a part of the US Pricing Operations Team of the Customer Channels Group of Thermo Fisher Scientific and will report to the Audit Manager.

This role will work with government contracts to help grow the government business within the division! This position works cross-functionally with Legal, Sales, Pricing, Finance, Operations, and Quality Teams.

What you will do:

  • Review, negotiate and administer government contracts in accordance with organizational and departmental policies and procedures
  • Support Government Sales teams responses to RFPs, requests for quotes, requests for information and similar competitive RFP documentation
  • Perform quarterly pricing adjustments to the GSA contract via the quarterly price adjustment (QPA) process and to the VA contract annually
  • Complete monthly audits of Federal government sales transactions to identify potential overpayments that require a credit adjustment to be processed
  • Recommend policies and procedures to affect the timely execution of contracts. Update existing standard operating procedure and work instruction documents related to Government Contracts
  • Administer contracts ensuring appropriate deliverables have been fulfilled
  • Act as liaison between the government contracting officers and the business on a variety of subjects
  • Maintain quarterly Ethics & Compliance certifications, annual charitable contribution certifications and the annual Country of Origin verification process

With regards to the Federal Supply Schedule:

  • You will assist with all government-initiated audits and complete and submit modifications to the appropriate government agency.
  • Identify and communicate risk areas throughout the lifecycle
  • Maintain official list of price changes and current pricing for items
  • Prepare and communicate to appropriate personnel changes and the filing and tracking of monthly sales and quarterly Industrial Funding Fee payments
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

How you will get here

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent

Experience:

  • 7 years of demonstrated experience in finance/business
  • Pricing/Audit/Contracts experience a plus
  • Experience with government contracts and the Federal Supply Chain Schedule a plus

Knowledge, Skills (incl. systems), Competencies

  • Knowledge of the Federal Government Contracting processes and Acquisition Regulations or desire/ability to learn!
  • Clear and persuasive communicator, orally and in writing. Outstanding ability to effectively establish relationships with individuals at all levels including senior management and applicable government officials
  • Customer oriented with collaborative communication and problem-solving skills, solid organization skills, expert administrative skills, very detail oriented and an aim to continuously improve
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Requires demonstrated proficiency with the latest MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and related electronic tools for gathering sales and pricing data
  • Requires strong self-management due to considerable timeline pressures
  • Detail oriented, organized and analytical problem solver with strong commercial orientation and a passion for understanding contracts and financial impacts
  • Operates independently with broad general mentorship against a framework of defined business objectives. Able to prioritize multiple projects at the same time and shows creativity and innovation
  • The ability to identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through Practical-Process-Improvement
