Position: Director of Compliance

Role Overview: Mia Share is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual for the position of Director of Compliance. As a crucial member of our team, the Director of Compliance will be responsible for overseeing and managing the compliance and licensing processes at both state and federal levels. This role demands a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with a proven track record of successfully filing and maintaining business licenses, developing, and enforcing company wide compliance manuals, and working strategically with all departments to ensure all business decisions adhere to legal requirements. This role includes both strategy, management, and execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Licensing Management: Oversee the end-to-end process of filing and maintaining business licenses at both state and federal levels. Ensure timely renewal of licenses and adherence to all regulatory requirements. Develop and implement efficient systems for tracking licensing status and renewal deadlines.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Stay abreast of state and federal regulations affecting Mia Share's operations. Proactively monitor changes in compliance requirements and communicate relevant updates to the leadership team. Utilize regulatory knowledge to guide decision-making processes within the company.
  • Compliance Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance considerations into business strategies and operations. Work closely with legal and other departments to assess and mitigate compliance risks. Develop and implement compliance training programs for employees to ensure a culture of awareness and adherence.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all licensing and compliance-related activities. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies. Respond to inquiries and audits related to compliance matters.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of compliance policies and procedures. Ensure that internal policies align with current regulations and industry best practices.
  • Team Management: Manage internal team members and external contractors, including but not limited to Compliance Specialists, Licensing Specialists, and Attorneys.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or a related field, preferred.
  • Advanced degree or professional certification in Compliance is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a similar role, with a focus on filing and maintaining business licenses.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations impacting Mia Share's industry.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance.
  • Experience with NMLS
