We are seeking a dynamic and experienced In-House Counsel specialized in employment law, contracts, compliance programs, collections, and risk management to join our national staffing company. As the In-House Counsel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting the company's operations across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities: Employment Law Compliance : Advise on matters related to employment law, including hiring practices, employee relations, workplace policies, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour laws. Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Contract Management : Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including client agreements, vendor contracts, employment contracts, and confidentiality agreements. Ensure contracts align with company policies and legal requirements.

Compliance Programs : Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs to monitor and enforce adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and ensure ongoing compliance.

Collections : Oversee collections processes and procedures to manage outstanding accounts receivable. Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies for effective debt recovery while minimizing legal risks.

Risk Management : Identify legal and regulatory risks associated with business operations and develop proactive strategies to mitigate exposure. Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on risk management best practices.

Litigation Management : Collaborate with external counsel to manage litigation matters, including employment disputes, contract disputes, and regulatory actions. Review legal documents, provide strategic guidance, and represent the company's interests in legal proceedings when necessary.

Legal Counsel: Provide legal advice and guidance to senior management and departmental stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues impacting the business. Stay updated on relevant legal developments and industry trends to inform decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on employment law, contracts, compliance, and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful compliance programs.
  • Experience managing litigation matters and working with external counsel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
