As the key support for our Legal department, you will play a vital role in ensuring staff have the tools, processes and automation to drive success. The Director of Legal Operations will play a vital role in guiding department culture by leading by example. We are seeking a very organized and teamwork focused Director of Legal Operations to join our law firm. As the Director of Legal Operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that staff are fully trained on processes and tools that drive efficiency, that decisions staff development & processes are both people and data-driven. Join our dynamic and dedicated team of staff who provide exceptional legal services.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Legal department operations through staff management, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), driving team culture, and managing communication.
  • Manage both up and down to ensure that all parties are communicating, involved, up to speed and operating in sync.
  • Introduce tools, processes, and automation to the legal department to increase efficiency; such as Contract Management Systems, Knowledge Management, Matter Management/E-billing, and Dashboards.
  • Manage the staff day in and day out.
  • Drive operational efficiency through creation and formalization of processes.
  • Lead the roll out and oversight of the critical department policies and procedures.
  • Guide department culture through performance management, establishing and championing department priorities, and helping enforce our policies.
  • Use information collected from reporting tools to make data-driven decisions around hiring, support, business impact, and growth.
  • A strong understanding of the current legal landscape and motivation to stay on top of the changing landscape.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education & Experience: B.A./B.S. degree preferred; Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations of a legal or financial services company; Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
  • JD, bar admission to practice, and legal and/or regulatory practice experience is preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related software applications.
  • Language Skills: Outstanding professional verbal and written communication skills; Thorough attention to detail and accuracy; Ability to work with limited oversight; Ability to learn, follow and adapt to changing processes and procedures; Collaborative and flexible work style
  • Workstation: Reliable high-speed internet connection.
