Your Role at Baxter

The Manager for Contract Management is responsible for the Contract Management processes, systems, and compliance for Baxter U.S. Commercial contracts for the HST division. This is a key leadership role in driving continuous improvement in Contract Administration business processes and performance. This role must understand corporate strategies, objectives, key business processes and systems that impact the Contract Administration Management functional area. The Manager for Contract Management coordinates with Sales Executives, Legal, Finance, Marketing, Channel Operations, GPO's and other business units as appropriate for key commercial contracts in support of Baxter U.S. commercial contract portfolios resulting in profitable market share gains and reduction in company compliance risk with our contractual customers.

What You'll Be Doing

 

  • Responsible for the development, execution and Continuous improvement of business strategies supporting Customer Contract Administration and Management.   • Lead development and implementation of new Contract Management processes and best practice procedures to standardize contract workflow and manage risk across all business units.
  • Responsible for the design of the Contract Management business processes and procedures and their translation into ERP System functionalities and reports.
  • Help lead integration of newly acquired or merged entities into Contract Management Systems and processes.
  • Develop KPI’s to measure operational effectiveness of the contract management functions
  • Build highly productive relationships with external partners/collaborators and all relevant internal stakeholders, including VPs, Finance, Channel Management, Sales, Marketing, etc.
  • Work closely with Business Applications Managers and Executive Sponsors to identify and execute process/system initiatives with short and long-term corporate strategies.
  • Analyze new business requirements and lead process change where necessary.
  • Work closely with the Business Application Managers to document business requirements as they relate to IT projects.
  • Work closely with the Business Application Managers on a regular basis to review requirements for IT services and performance levels, resolve issues and/or problems.
  • Oversee the development, testing and implementation of continuous improvement and system change/upgrade initiatives.
  • Responsible for the daily supervision, development and continual engagement of the US Contract Management staff while providing guidance in support of the various daily functions related to both direct and indirect channels of Contract Administration.
  • Primary internal and external contact for all related Contract Administration activities for government and commercial contract customers.
  • Effectively design and manage contract rebate process. This includes development of annual contract sales, rebates, and administrative fee budget. Responsible for maintaining the budget and reporting upon budget performance.
  • Keeps internal organizations informed of contractual obligations as they relate to contract management.
  • Work with industry organizations to understand systems, technology, best practices as in input for continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring

 

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years in contract management with experience in Healthcare or Medical industry
  • 2+ year’s experience in leadership capacity
  • Experience with SAP and Vistex Contract Management Solution
  • Experience with federal, commercial, state and local governmental contracts.
  • Ability to establish strategic direction and drive execution and development of team members.
  • Proven ability to develop sound relationships at the executive level in internal and external customer organizations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Contract administration, GPO and administrative fee reporting and chargebacks (rebates) required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and implementations.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risk, establish priorities, and make decisions based on input from various stakeholders across the business.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization, excellent personal organization skills, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with others in a team environment.
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Package, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

The estimated base salary for this position is $128,000 to $176,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive.
