JCW is looking to hire a senior patent agent with experience specifically in next-generation sequencing to join our client's growing IP team.

This person will need to be in-person/hybrid in the Bay Area.

Day-to-day you will:

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications, working with in-house inventors and external IP counsel.
• Manage databases and dockets. Monitor, prepare, file, and maintain databases as they relate to patent documents and patent prosecution (docket deadlines).
• Engage in patent/technology analysis and landscaping.

The qualified candidate has:

• 6+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genomics, or similar discipline required.
• Registered to practice before the USPTO.
• Research or patent experience in NGS.
