Job Description

Boutique law firm located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida seeking a motivated and accomplished associate level attorney with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience to join our team. This is a great opportunity to join a respected, collaborative, and supportive litigation team.

The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of the Florida and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Evidence and substantial experience arguing substantive motions in court. Expertise in researching, writing complex motions and briefs, discovery, and deposing witnesses (fact and expert) is essential. The successful candidate must be an effective problem-solver, highly organized, and have a strong work ethic. Be a “team player”. Candidates with business experience and transaction experience are encouraged to apply. All candidates must be admitted to The Florida Bar and in good standing.

Competitive Compensation Based On Experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to manage an independent case load and work as part of a team on larger matters.
  • Grow and develop your book of business with new and existing clients.
  • Foster and maintain long-term relationships with clients.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions on state and/or federal matters.
  • Attend court hearings on behalf of clients and argue motions.
  • Strategize, prepare for, and attend trial proceedings, mediation, arbitration, conduct and defend depositions.
  • Conduct negotiations and draft agreements.
  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel to clients, addressing their unique legal needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws. Bankruptcy background is also a plus.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Florida in good standing.
  • Must be able to handle matters with little supervision.
  • Persuasive writing skills and verbal communication skills are critical.
