Your role

Are you an experienced and driven professional in Data Protection who has what it takes to strengthen our team?

We are looking for someone like this to:

  • assess changes in personal data processing activities and operational implications, helping to define privacy relevant solutions
  • assess Laws and Regulations and evaluating its possible impacts and required deliverables
  • conduct data protection impact assessments, act as a specialist and support management of the assessment framework
  • executing Data Protection Office processes in collaboration with other Data Protection SMEs
  • monitor compliance of personal data processing with applicable data protection law and UBS policies, and act as contact person for data subjects on data protection matters

 

Your team

The Group Data Protection Office organizationally positioned with Group Compliance, Regulatory and Governance is led by the Group Data Protection Officer (Group DPO), with a mandate to ensure UBS' adherence to data privacy laws and regulations and maintain the Data Protection Policy and Control Framework. The Group Data Protection Office is headquartered in Switzerland is comprised of a central team of SMEs and Local Data Protection Contacts ("LDPC") in Zurich, Frankfurt, Krakow, Luxembourg, Paris, London, Singapore, Shanghai, New York and Sao Paolo covering UBS locations globally. To fulfil its mandate, the Group Data Protection Office works closely with key stakeholders across the UBS organization.

Your expertise

  • academic degree in relevant area, including Engineering, Business Administration or Law
  • ideally 2-5+ years proven relevant experience in data privacy, project management or related area, preferably in the financial industry with leading institutions, business consultancies or supervisory authorities
  • knowledge of US Data Protection laws and/or others that impact Privacy (e.g.: Data breaches regulations, Banking regulations, etc) and ability to translate into operational implications for our organization.
  • driven, self-starter and proven ability to organize own work in a dynamic working environment and delivering on different topics within agreed timelines and build and manage productive working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • adaptable, resilient team player with a positive attitude with strong analytical skills to enable structured problem solving with ability to synthesize and express complex issues into concrete outcomes
  • excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • knowledge of banking and investment products, services and processes as well as data analytics and privacy aspects is a plus
  • privacy relevant certification, for example by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is a plus
  • fluent in Spanish, a plus.
  • knowledge of Latin America Data Protection Laws, CCPA and/or EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Salary information

CA, CO, WA and NY based roles: The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $130,000 based on experience, education, and skill level. This role may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. For benefits information: ubs.com/usbenefits.
