Supports the Legal Department by responding to subpoena and personnel file requests, drafting and filing documents with appropriate agencies, case management, and conducting research and analysis.

The Senior Paralegal - Litigation , supports the Legal Department by responding to subpoena and personnel file requests, drafting documents, case management, and conducting research and analysis.

This senior paralegal position will provide experienced paralegal support on a wide range of matters including employment investigations and litigation, labor arbitrations, wildfire investigations and subpoenas, OSHA matters, ethics investigations, conducting witness interviews, and personnel file requests.

Key Responsibilities:

Document and Case Management – Lead the e-discovery process and assist in early case assessment by gathering documentation, preparing timelines, and conducting initial witness interviews. Prepare and organize exhibits and notebooks for mediations and labor arbitrations. Respond to information requests and determine appropriate scope of document search. Coordinate with PGE employees to gather documents for preparation of discovery responses or document production, and act as liaison with employees and outside counsel on case status and compliance with subpoenas and information requests. Manage and respond to subpoena requests. Assist in the development of internal processes to effectively manage the litigation process.

Legal Research and eDiscovery - Provide summaries to attorneys of legal research, analyze legal research, and provide recommendations. Manage the issuance of legal holds and the gathering of information from custodians.

Education/Experience/Certifications

Education : Requires a bachelor’s degree in any field, or an associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, or equivalent experience.

Experience : Typically two or more years in related field, particularly in contract review, document production and regulatory filings.

  • Working knowledge of all regulatory filing and service processes and requirements, including basic forms and orders such as standard protective orders, formal forms of motions and certificates of service.
  • Intermediate knowledge of company and Legal Department procedures and requirements.

  • Intermediate ability to prioritize work to meet court/proceeding schedules and department deadlines.
  • Intermediate skill in determining what information or products the attorney needs and devising means to achieve same.
  • Advanced knowledge of legal terminology to interpret and draft standard legal documents.
  • Working skill in using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Intermediate skill in conducting legal research and organizing and summarizing information from divergent sources, including legal and non-legal reference sources with emphasis on electronic research.

#HYBRID

Compensation Range:

$35.05 - $58.41

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
