The eDiscovery Analyst will perform eDiscovery data collections, forensics, ethics investigations, and other data collection activities to support internal and external electronic data discovery requests related to legal and ethics matters. This responsibility includes collecting, preserving, and analyzing data from various electronic sources. The eDiscovery Analyst will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the systems and software needed for a viable and defensible eDiscovery program, keeping up with related technologies, evaluating new tools and techniques for improving and expanding P66’s eDiscovery capabilities, and developing and maintaining related processes and procedures documentation. The analyst may also be required to participate in external user or support groups or be called to testify in courts of law.

Responsibilities May Include

 

  • Collect electronically stored information (ESI) from network-managed systems, including email artifacts, documents, chats, etc.
  • Assist in the execution of eDiscovery processes under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Contribute to data identification, collection, and preservation activities using established protocols and tools.
  • Maintain high confidentiality and compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
  • Perform analytical analysis on datasets such as computer operating system logs, system memory, and hard drives.
  • Establish and maintain the systems and software needed for a viable eDiscovery/forensics lab environment and evaluate new tools and techniques for improving and expanding the eDiscovery/investigations program capabilities.
  • Work with the Cyber Security, Legal, and IT leadership to develop, establish, and execute processes and procedures.
  • Periodically review the eDiscovery processes considering new technologies and methods and update as needed to ensure data is collected efficiently, reliably and defensibly.
  • Use eDiscovery knowledge and abilities of a wide variety of advanced computer technologies and theories.
  • Maintain an understanding of computer network architecture to identify data sources and collection techniques.
  • Develop and manage relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with others in eDiscovery disciplines to stay abreast of the developments within the profession.

Required Qualifications

 

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5 or more years of experience in Information Technology
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and corporate data collection, preservation, and sharing policies
  • Able to handle sensitive matters and data according to policies and best practices
  • Knowledge of data collection processes and analysis
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures regarding chain of custody practice
  • Knowledge of E-Discovery practices and Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM)
  • Able to present and explain technical information to diverse audiences
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including Desktop, Server, Security Solutions, and Networking systems
  • Knowledge of messaging technologies, including corporate mail systems and email archives
  • Experience writing or maintaining Excel macros (Visual Basic)
  • Experience writing or maintaining PowerShell scripts, particularly related to the Purview, Security & Compliance Center, Core eDiscovery, or Advanced eDiscovery

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 7 or more years of operational experience in Information Technology
  • eDiscovery experience and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, like the duties and responsibilities described
  • Proficient in writing or maintaining Excel macros (Visual Basic)
  • Proficient in writing or maintaining PowerShell scripts, particularly related to the Security & Compliance Center, Core eDiscovery, or Advanced eDiscovery
  • Ability to objectively analyze complex, technical operations situations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A mentality of ownership and problem-solving
  • Experience with forensic imaging and analysis
  • Experience working with e-discovery and/or data forensics tools
  • Experience working with IT infrastructure technologies, including Desktop, Server, Security Solutions, and Networking systems
  • Experience with the collection process from messaging technologies, including corporate mail systems and email archives
