As a first party homeowner’s attorney, you’ll be a part of our house counsel insurance defense litigation team, providing legal representation to Progressive Insurance Companies before courts and arbitration panels in all aspects of litigation. Handling cases from beginning to end, you’ll also prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, trial briefs and be involved in negotiating settlements. Additionally, you’ll work closely with claims partners to prepare timely reports on litigation, ensuring all appropriate defenses are leveraged to reach positive outcomes. Other tasks will include analyzing written discovery, depositions and assessing the value of claims to determine risk exposure.  

This position is remote and open to candidates located in the North Florida area.

Must-have qualifications 

  • Juris Doctor degree or higher 
  • Active license to practice law in Florida
  • Two years general/auto civil litigation experience
  • If supporting property, two years of civil litigation experience with a strong emphasis on first party property cases in lieu of general/auto civil litigation experience

Compensation

  • $118,320 - $139,200/year
  • Gainshare bonus up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
