Reporting to the Head of Legal Operations, You will be responsible for management and successful delivery of Ciena’s Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) program. The successful candidate will work closely with the CLM Product Owner, Technical Support, Buy Side and Sell Side Stakeholders to drive strategic and operational goals in line with the CLM roadmap and legal department strategy. As a CLM Program Manager at Ciena, You will lead cross functional teams, manage program resources and ensure project completion on time and within budget. A critical part of this role involves change management, which includes effective communication strategies, knowledge management, and process excellence. These skills will be instrumental in driving user enablement and tool adoption as we continuously add new features and options to our system. Experience with DocuSign CLM, the ability to manage legal technical implementation projects and managing multiple internal and external stakeholders are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
Leveraging Your program management and CLM expertise, Collaborate with the CLM Product Owner and Head of Legal Operations to develop and manage the CLM roadmap, and comprehensive project plan to monitor and track progress
Measure and update on project performance as well as manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Lead the planning and implementation of project objectives. Facilitate the definition of scope, goals, key deliverables and minimize project risks
Lead Business requirements gathering, scoping and prioritizing, focusing on delivering outcomes aligned with the CLM roadmap and Legal strategy
Create and manage JIRA stories and work with IT to prioritize tasks effectively amidst competing and complex priorities
Work with IT to support the solution delivery and testing processes (internal and external) to ensure quality, suggest improvements where necessary
Drive and execute User Acceptance Testing with business groups
Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, regular reviews and effective communication
Support regular reviews of work against SOWs, evaluate vendor performance and help identify any issues to allow corrective action, process improvements.
Work with IT Solutions Delivery to implement solutions (i.e. DocuSign AI through Insights and Analyzer)
Agree use case priorities with CLM Product Owner and Head of Legal Operations and manage associated data model creation and implementation
Develop, rollout and monitor CLM Metrics to inform business decisions
Support end-user adoption and enablement of CLM tools, including quick reference guides, training, power hours, etc.
Manage change effectively and as necessary to meet project outputs, including effective communication strategies and process changes as needed
Promote CLM Technology and develop and implement knowledge management processes, tools, assets to increase CLM utilization, enable self- service and decrease need for support
Drive process excellence and user enablement to facilitate effective adoption of new features and options in our systems
Job Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or PMP certification is a plus.
Proven experience leading a Contract Lifecycle Management project / program with a strong focus on CLM applications and implementations
Solid technical background with understanding and / or hands on experience with DocuSign / other contract management technology
Experience working in a Legal Operations team or CLM consulting environment, with a deep understanding of CLM processes and best practices
Excellent client facing and internal communication skills
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
Strong knowledge of JIRA, data models, and governance
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage complex and competing priorities
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, project management tools, and change and knowledge management methodologies
Proactive, entrepreneurial approach to recognizing needs, solving problems, anticipating issues and developing solutions
Proven track record of making an impact, developing and executing on strategy and delivering superior results in both the short and long term
