Position Summary

The Assistant Legal Counsel will report to Legal Director and work within the China team to provide support to the growing business of the China office. Key responsibilities include review of contracts and promotional terms and conditions, monitoring legal development and conducting legal research, general corporate maters, IP, contract filing and data related work. This role will also handle administration tasks including setting up meetings and trainings, supporting vendor set-up and payment for legal team.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Review of contracts and other legal documents assigned by Legal Director.
  • Assisting with the review of all kinds of marketing and promotional activities.
  • Monitoring legal development and keeping the team updated on key changes relating to cruise industry and the company’s business operation in mainland China and Hong Kong.
  • Conducting legal research whenever necessary to ascertain applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and assisting with any trainings legal team may conduct for the business.
  • Assisting with general corporate mattes for entities we have in mainland China and Hong Kong.
  • Working closely with business team to ensure contracts are reviewed, approved, executed and filed in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with general compliance matters including data privacy, anti-bribery, etc.
  • Provide legal advice on guest complaints/claims.
  • Working on trademark and other IP related matters.
  • Managing vendor setting up and payment related issues.
  • O ther duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or master degree in law
  • Admitted to China bar
  • 1-3 years’ working experiences gained from either a law firm or a multinational company
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin) language skills
