Overview

We are seeking an experienced product & business leader to lead the company’s product strategy, roadmap, and overall business execution for our Consumer, IP and Attorney Services divisions. The Vice President is responsible for the development and execution of the end-to-end product strategy and has accountability and ownership for products throughout the product life cycle, from needs analysis and requirements, development through launch and ongoing enhancements to achieve overall business metrics and objectives. In addition to growing and mentoring the product team, the role is responsible for owning and leading all cross-functional initiatives that enable these products either directly or indirectly via partnering with other departments across the organization.

You will

  • Define the overall product roadmap, including ongoing product strategy, product planning, user experience design, and requirements development for new features, functionality, and integrations.
  • Integrate multiple existing product teams into one cohesive, customer-centric product organization.
  • Work with multiple leaders across the organization (e.g., Marketing, Finance, Sales, Engineering, etc.) to prioritize product needs and incorporate priorities into the product roadmap. Work closely and communicate expertly with stakeholders to ensure the methodology and rationale behind decisions are clearly understood and accepted.
  • Manage business relationships as a single point of accountability and ensure effective/efficient product roadmap processes are established and maintained.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and specific pain points and create a culture of customer-centric product development.
  • Design, build, and deliver the highest quality products and content that drive key outcomes, including enhancing the overall user experience, optimizing client monetization opportunities, and improving operational efficiencies.
  • Anticipate industry and product trends, capability prioritization and tradeoffs, balancing business needs versus technical and resource constraints.
  • Manage launch planning and implementation of new products and features, including beta and acceptance testing, pilot programs and user training, and creation of support materials, user documentation, and launch presentations.
  • Define the analytics to quantify success (or failure), clearly articulate objectives, and define plans to prove or disprove success.
  • Finally, be accountable for the financial success of the business and product lines.

You have

  • 15+ years of experience in SMB and user experience design and a proven track record of effectively integrating customer-centric thinking into product development processes.
  • Experience working closely with customers to deeply understand their needs and pain points.
  • Strong Experience in SMB and/or D2C SaaS space will be candidates' differentiators.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of product managers and a strong foundation in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience driving and fine-tuning the craft of product management: definition, prototyping, experimenting, and launching.
  • Insatiable curiosity and you are intensely data-driven
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external partners/clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is ($285,000-$425,000). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
