Manager, Legal Contracts

Job Summary

Partners with field and operations associates to provide timely and effective legal reviews of contracts, bids, and other customer facing legal documents with a goal of managing risk, accomplishing operational objectives, and maintaining consistency of contract terms.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities

  • Reviews, revises, and drafts legal contract terms, including purchase order terms and conditions, contracts, requests for proposals, bids, and other related contract documents
  • Partner closely with operational and field associates to provide timely legal advice regarding all contracting related matters, including risk mitigation and consistency of legal terms
  • Educate operational teams about best practices in contracting and negotiation of business and legal terms
  • Assist with contract management in contract lifecycle management tool, including distributing review requests among legal team members and tracking open projects
  • Work with other legal team members to research and practically apply contracting laws and regulations at the municipal, state, and federal levels
  • Act as liaison with risk management team on contractual insurance requirements when necessary
  • Collaborates with other functional areas to address complex contract administration and negotiation challenges.
  • Tracks and communicates key issues and status of contract reviews to internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 4+ years’ experience in legal contract administration, review, negotiation and creation
  • Experience with municipal, state, or federal contracting and related regulatory schemes
  • Experience working in fast-paced environment juggling multiple internal and external customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong communication skills
  • Record of prioritization skills and dedicated and successful teamwork

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable
