The Role:

 

The Legal Department is seeking a highly motivated attorney to join the team supporting AMD’s Artificial Intelligence Group (AIG). The attorney will work primarily with the engineering organizations within AIG as counsel in support of its artificial intelligence related products (including client and datacenter SoCs, related AI software, and AI tools). Additionally, the attorney will work with sales, marketing, and business development organizations across AMD to support engagements with customers and other business partners.

· Efficient, effective, well organized, and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.

· Intellectual curiosity and a desire to support complex software and hardware products—enjoys learning about cutting-edge technology.

· Creative problem-solver with a practical, collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

· Review, draft, and negotiate inbound and outbound software and technology license agreements.

· Counsel engineering clients regarding the use of open source software in compliance with policies and procedures.

· Counsel clients regarding contract terms, compliance, and dispute resolution.

· Coordinate deal negotiation with internal stakeholders.

· Develop and provide internal training on legal and compliance topics.

 

Preferred Experience:

· Experience as a practicing attorney, with both law firm and in-house experience preferred.

· Experience in open-source licensing and counseling, commercial transactions, and intellectual property law.

· Experience in the computing or semiconductor industry is a plus.

 

Academic Credentials:

JD degree and admission to practice law in a U.S. state.
