Job Summary And Qualifications

The Ethics & Compliance Officer is primarily responsible for ensuring adherence to ethics and compliance initiatives within HealthTrust Workforce Solutions (HWS). This individual will implement and monitor compliance programs for all HWS, coordinate issue resolution, handle Ethics Line cases and reportable issues, handle company policy distribution, and oversee ethics and compliance education requirements. Performs due diligence on compliance related issues and determines corrective action, including educational opportunities, policy changes, and process improvement, and communicating these activities to HWS leadership. Monitors performance to identify best practices and work with the HWS departments to implement these across the operations. Participates in compliance audits and addresses any identified issues. This individual must demonstrate strong commitment to stakeholder relationships by taking ownership of issues and facilitating effective outcomes in a timely manner. This individual will also be responsible for working hand in hand with senior leaders in developing the future strategy and prioritization of initiatives

What You Will Do In This Role Includes:


  • Monitor internal systems to ensure compliance.
  • Chair the Ethics and Compliance Committee for HWS.
  • Review, interpret, and communicate relevant company policy updates.
  • Keep HWS Leadership informed of the status of Ethics and Compliance issues with HWS, where appropriate.
  • Review internal and external audit reports and investigations relating to HWS and coordinate appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
  • Assures that colleagues are aware that they may raise concerns or report suspected violations of the Code, of Policies and Procedures, or of law or regulations to a supervisor, to any member of local management, to HR, to the ECO, or to the Corporate Ethics Line, without fear of retaliation.
  • Conducts investigations resulting from calls to the corporate Ethics Line or from internal reports within HWS.
  • Acts as a resource to HWS Leadership for ethics and compliance issues.
  • Develop and monitor performance indicators related to compliance.
  • Develop best practice documentation and implementation plans.
  • Actively communicate with HWS representatives related to appropriate issues or compliance initiatives.
  • Work with HWS leadership to ensure that any new policies/processes are compliant with all company/regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee ethics and compliance education requirements.
  • Review all ethics and compliance related decisions within HWS with the ability to overturn those decisions which do not further the ethics and compliance program.
  • Other assigned duties as required.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nursing, Human Resources or equivalent work experience
  • Masters or other graduate degree preferred
  • 7+ years compliance related experience In a healthcare setting (advanced degree may substitute for up to four years of this experience)
  • 3+ years management level experience required
  • HCA experience preferred.
  • Compliance-related certification preferred
