Job Overview:

We are looking for a visionary and strategic leader to join our Legal & Government Relations business unit as the Chief Transformation Officer. You will be responsible for driving the transformation and innovation of our services, processes, and systems, as well as leading the change management and culture shift within the business unit and across the organization.

You will work closely with the Chief Legal Officer, senior legal leaders, and other key stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and implement transformation initiatives that align with LPL’s business goals and values. You will also oversee the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge legal technology solutions, such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data analytics, to enhance the efficiency, quality, and value of our services.

As the Chief Transformation Officer, you will also foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Legal & Government Relations business unit in partnership with cross-functional teams. You will champion the adoption of agile methodologies, design thinking, and user-centric approaches to solve complex l problems and deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will also coach, mentor, and empower the department to embrace change and leverage technology to optimize their performance and professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving the transformation and innovation of our legal services, processes, and systems, as well as leading the change management shift within the department
  • Define and drive strategic and operational initiatives for the department with on-time and on-budget results
  • Report on key operational and substantive metrics for the department that will better inform resource allocation, decision-making, including matter and work product analyses
  • Identify and implement tools to streamline new or existing practices, as well as managing design, rollout, and training for new systems
  • Revamp and enforce processes and policies to effectively manage outside counsel usage and spend
  • Coordinate with Finance on budget matters and optimizing workflows within the business unit
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, support, service, business development, regulatory, IT, and finance, as well as other business units
  • Identify and lead efficiency projects for the department (e.g. knowledge management tools)
  • Support the Chief Legal Officer on ad-hoc projects, as needed

Requirements:

  • BA or BS required
  • 8+ years of operations experience in a large corporation or law firm, with a focus on technology, innovation, and transformation
  • A proven track record of leading and managing complex and cross-functional transformation projects, from ideation to execution, with measurable outcomes and impact.
  • Prior experience developing playbooks, policies, and using process improvement tools like six sigma
  • Demonstrated ability to independently move projects forward by gaining the support needed from others while working in a cross-functional role
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross functional groups (e.g., finance, operations, business development, IT) to set objectives and produce meaningful results
  • Strong relationship management and influence skills

  • A deep understanding of the current and emerging legal technology trends, tools, and best practices, and the ability to evaluate, select, and implement the most suitable solutions for our legal needs and challenges
  • A strong change management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, inspire, and motivate diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • A high degree of creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box and challenge the status quo
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex and technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • A passion for learning, innovation, and continuous improvement, with the willingness to experiment, fail fast, and learn from feedback

Preferences:

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Experience working with advocacy tools (e.g. VoterVoice)

Pay Range:

$143,800-$215,700/year

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
