What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paralegal to provide a full range of support to the legal department in the area of environmental, health and safety (EHS). This individual will have experience working independently and driving the execution of tasks as well as working with a team to assist in the completion of project deliverables. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, detail oriented, and enjoy working hard and being continually challenged.

What You'll Do

• Set up, maintain, and manage internal files for EHS legal matters, including opening new matters with external law firms
• Coordinate and assist with filings and other communications with environmental and occupational health and safety regulatory agencies. Work with Tesla attorneys, Tesla EHS team members, outside consultants, and outside attorneys to assemble, develop, and manage documents and files and prepare filings.
• Prepare cover letters and other documents as needed for filings and other communications in connection with legal EHS matters
• Assist with, obtain, and distribute notarizations, legalized documents, certified copies, corporate filings and other corporate documents as needed
• Assist with external law firm billing and invoicing systems
• Manage EHS legal workflow and matter metrics tracking

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of relevant In-house and/or top-tier law firm experience working as a corporate paralegal
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or paralegal certification preferred or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
• Notary certification (or willingness to obtain) a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, legal entity management and related software.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work within a complex and constantly changing, fast-paced, demanding work environment
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal functions around the globe as well as external advisors
• Must maintain a positive attitude, be a self-starter, a critical thinker, dependable, and take pride in work product

Expected Compensation

$72,000 - $198,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
