We're on a journey to build something new! Come join our team and help us launch new discovery and shopping products that connect customers with their vehicle of choice. We're looking for a talented attorney to join our team and help build innovative automotive-shopping experiences for our customers. This attorney will work closely with business development, product, and tech teams as counsel to launch a new shopping category on Amazon.

This attorney will have transactional drafting and negotiation responsibilities for commercial agreements, including technology and licensing agreements and will advise business clients on products, services and strategic partnerships. The successful candidate will be a fast learner who is detail-oriented and customer-obsessed, and will be able to work independently and comfortably while making decisions in ambiguous situations

Key job responsibilities

  • Providing ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas, such as advertising, consumer protection, and regulatory compliance
  • Serving as counsel and directly advising business clients on product/services and strategic partnerships
  • Structuring, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including technology and licensing

About The Team

This role is one of the first on a newly formed team with a vision to create innovative automotive discovery and shopping experiences on Amazon, providing customers better convenience and more selection. We’re collaborating with other experienced teams at Amazon to define the future of how customers research and shop for cars online.

Basic Qualifications

  • A J.D. degree and active membership in at least one state bar
  • 5+ years of experience practicing law
  • Prior experience as counsel in the automotive industry

  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a large number of projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
  • Team player and consensus builder who can effectively collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business leaders throughout the organization
  • Business acumen combined with the ability to identify optimal solutions, including novel, creative, and innovative solutions to complex issues
  • Strong analytical and communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
