Legal Talent War Continues - The number of associates leaving U.S. firms increased 51% this year and associate compensation is at an all-time high as firms scramble to recruit and retain lawyers. More here.

Elizabeth Holmes Found Guilty - the former tech CEO is guilty of 4 out of 11 charges in the fraud lawsuit which concluded this week. She faces up to 20 years in prison. More here

2021 Legal Technology Report for In-House Professionals Results - 250 In-house attorneys took part in a survey resulting in interesting findings like 63% of participants said legaltech was a "must have". Explore their other legal industry opinions for 2022 here

The Legalweek conference scheduled to convene in New York City later this month has been moved to March due to the surge in coronavirus cases resulting from the Omicron variant. More here.

ND of California Suspends January Jury Trials Due to Omicron - the Bay Area was not the only court acting on the recent COVID-19 surge.  The US Central District Court of California announced a temporary suspension, and The US District of Connecticut cited risks to seating jurors close to each other. Many other courts are following suit.  

Legal Tech Gains Steam - The still emerging legal technology sector had an exceptional 2021 with several IPOs, and at least two companies in the legal tech sector surpassing $1 billion valuations. More here.
