Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers Urges ABA to Adopt New Rules of Conduct - The group of lawyers called upon the ABA to adopt a new version of Model Rule 5.5 that would eliminate the traditional state-based limitation on law practice which allows lawyers to practice law only in the states they've been admitted. More here

US Appeals Court Rules Web Scraping Legal - The U.S. Ninth Circuit of Appeals ruled scraping publicly accessible data is legal. The ruling is the latest in the ongoing LinkedIn legal battle aimed at stopping rival companies from scraping personal information from users' public profiles. More here

NYC Pay Transparency Law to Take Effect in May - Despite a bill which could delay the effective day to later this year, the NYC pay transparency law will take effect May 15. This bill will require NYC employers with 4+ employees to include the salary range in job posts. More here

State of the UK Legal Market 2022 Report - Thomson Reuters explores the usage of legal technology amongst UK legal departments in one section of their annual report. E-signatures, Legal research, and Practical know-how were among the top most-used technologies. More here.

SCOTUS Gives ATX a Win in Billboard Distinction Case - The US Supreme Court has ruled the distinction between on-site and off-site digital billboards is content neutral under the First Amendment. More here. 

DLA Piper Adds 27 Private Equity Lawyers - A group of 27 former Honigman lawyers will join the BigLaw firm in Chicago. The firm has over 100 private-equity-focused lawyers in the US and is among the most active law firms advising on these type of deals. More here.
