FTC Alleges Epic Games Broke the Law Charging Players - In a $520M settlement, the popular Epic Games creation, Fortnite, has been charged with violating children's privacy laws and manipulating users into making unauthorized purchases. More here

Chinese Tech Giants Facing Regulation in 2023 - Billions of dollars have been wiped from the country's tech giants (Alibaba, Tencent, etc.) with these company's posting their slowest growth rates on record. Investors are cautious as analysts predict regulation efforts to accelerate. More here

Number of U.S. Independent Workers Continued to Surge in 2022 - MBO Partners released its 2022 State of Independence study series. The results found freelancers, gig workers, and independent contractors reached 64.6M (up 26% over 51.1M last year). More here.

Meta to Pay $725M Cambridge Analytica Fine - Meta Platforms agreed to the sum to resolve a class action suit in which the Facebook parent company was accused of allowing third parties to access users' personal information. More here.
