Charter Communications Inc., one of the nation's leading broadband connectivity providers and cable operators, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamal Haughton as Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, effective November 6, 2023. With an illustrious legal career spanning various high-profile roles, Jamal Haughton is set to take on the mantle of Chief Legal Officer, contributing to Charter's strategic growth and future direction.

Before joining Charter Communications, Jamal Haughton served as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary of Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp (MSGE), where he oversaw all legal functions, including transactional, litigation, and regulatory matters. Prior to MSGE, he held the position of Senior Vice President & General Counsel at Samsung Electronics America, Inc., serving as the Chief Legal Officer for the U.S. from 2016 to 2021. Haughton also spent a decade at Cablevision Systems Corporation, where he provided legal counsel on corporate governance, public company reporting, and strategic transactions. He began his legal career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, with a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.

As the company's Chief Legal Officer, Haughton will collaborate closely with Charter's executive leadership, providing crucial legal counsel to support the company's evolving long-term strategy and growth initiatives. Chris Winfrey, the President and CEO of Charter praised the arrival of Jamal Haughton, describing him as a proven leader with extensive experience in managing high-profile corporate legal matters and offering invaluable industry perspective.
