Rose Marie Glazer: AIG's New General Counsel

In a recent announcement, American International Group, Inc. (AIG) revealed that Rose Marie Glazer has been appointed as the General Counsel, overseeing AIG's legal, compliance, regulatory, and government affairs functions. This move comes after Glazer was announced as Interim General Counsel on October 1, 2023.

Rose Marie Glazer, an accomplished professional, has an impressive track record in the corporate world. She joined AIG as the Chief Human Resources & Diversity Officer on January 1, 2022. Throughout her tenure, Glazer has demonstrated exceptional legal, business, and governance expertise, which led to her appointment as Interim General Counsel. Her contributions to AIG's progress have positioned her as a highly qualified leader for this important role.

Peter Zaffino, AIG Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, expressed his confidence in Glazer's abilities, stating that her demonstrated expertise reaffirms her suitability for the General Counsel position. Zaffino emphasized Glazer's instrumental role in positioning AIG as a top-performing global insurer and highlighted their continued collaboration. Glazer herself acknowledged the significance of this appointment, recognizing AIG's pursuit of excellence and the essential role of legal, compliance, regulatory, and government affairs teams in supporting high-quality outcomes.

As General Counsel, Rose Marie Glazer will oversee AIG's legal, compliance, regulatory, and government affairs functions. Her responsibilities encompass ensuring adherence to legal requirements, managing compliance with regulations, and representing AIG in legal matters. Additionally, Glazer will play a crucial role in guiding AIG's governance and policy decisions, working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and collaborating with colleagues across different business units.

Glazer brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role as General Counsel of AIG. Her background includes being National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Directorship Certified, a member of the Latino Corporate Directors Association, and a participant in the Partnership for New York City's David Rockefeller Fellows program. Glazer obtained her law degree, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, Texas. She also holds a BBA in accounting, summa cum laude, and a B.A. in Spanish, summa cum laude, from Southern Methodist University. With her extensive educational background and professional achievements, Glazer is well-equipped to lead AIG's legal affairs.

In addition to her achievements at AIG, Rose Marie Glazer maintains an active presence in professional networks. She is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and the Latino Corporate Directors Association, which provide opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and professional growth. Glazer's participation in these associations further enhances her ability to lead AIG's legal affairs effectively.

Prior to Glazer's appointment as General Counsel, Patricia Walsh was announced. However, Walsh recently decided to remain at Stripe, Inc. While Walsh's decision represents a change in plans, Glazer's appointment ensures continuity and stability in AIG's legal leadership.
