Preston's career in the legal field took off when she held various important legal positions at Levi Strauss & Co., a globally recognized apparel company. Before transitioning to an in-house role, she was a partner at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and worked at other prestigious law firms such as Latham & Watkins, Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold, and Baker & McKenzie.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Georgetown University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia.
