Macy's, Inc., one of the leading retailers in the United States, has announced the appointment of Tracy Preston as their new Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary, effective January 8, 2024. Tracy will report directly to Tony Spring, President & CEO-elect of Macy's, Inc. In her new role, Tracy will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of legal affairs, litigation, and compliance matters for Macy's, Inc., including employment, real estate, credit, commercial, and regulatory issues, as well as enterprise security and internal audit. Tracy will also serve as a Legal Advisor to the senior leadership team and the board of directors in her capacity as Corporate Secretary.

Preston brings a wealth of experience in legal and compliance matters, having spent the past three decades counseling global apparel and retail companies on strategic, business, operational, and tactical matters. Her expertise in aligning legal and risk mitigation approaches with business objectives and brand missions makes her a valuable addition to Macy's, Inc.'s leadership team.

Following Preston's appointment, Tony Spring, President and CEO-elect of Macy's, Inc., conveyed his enthusiasm, highlighting her esteemed standing in legal and compliance matters as a valuable addition to their leadership. Before joining Macy's, Inc., Preston held several key executive positions at renowned companies in the retail industry. She served as the Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Legal Officer, & Corporate Secretary of HanesBrands Inc. Before that, Preston held the same titles at the Neiman Marcus Group, where she made significant contributions to the company's legal and compliance functions. Preston's career in the legal field took off when she held various important legal positions at Levi Strauss & Co., a globally recognized apparel company. Before transitioning to an in-house role, she was a partner at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and worked at other prestigious law firms such as Latham & Watkins, Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold, and Baker & McKenzie.

Preston's educational background reflects her commitment to excellence in the legal field. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Georgetown University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia. With her solid educational foundation and extensive experience, she is well-equipped to navigate the complex legal landscape and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements at Macy's, Inc.
