Agilent Technologies Appoints Bret DiMarco as Chief Legal Officer

Agilent Technologies, Inc., a renowned player in the life sciences, diagnostics, and applied chemical markets, has welcomed Bret DiMarco as the new Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. As of today, DiMarco steps into a pivotal role within Agilent's global legal organization, also taking on the responsibilities of company secretary.

Padraig McDonnell, President and CEO of Agilent, emphasized DiMarco's diverse experience spanning various sectors as a significant boon for the company. McDonnell expressed confidence that DiMarco's strategic insight will enhance Agilent's customer-centric approach and agility in the competitive marketplace, ultimately benefiting both customers and shareholders.

DiMarco transitions to Agilent from his previous position as Chief Legal Officer at Pendo.io, a prominent SaaS company with a strong venture-backed presence in the global market. His tenure at Coherent Inc., a leading laser manufacturer, saw him at the helm of legal affairs, intellectual property, and global trade compliance. Notably, DiMarco played a crucial role in orchestrating Coherent's merger with II-VI Incorporated, subsequently advising the company president post-merger.

Prior to his corporate roles, DiMarco honed his legal acumen at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, an international law firm where he specialized in corporate and securities law, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions. His engagement with the Nasdaq Exchange, particularly as the chair of the Nominating Committee, further reflects his deep involvement in the broader financial and legal communities.

An adjunct assistant professor of law at the University of California Law School, San Francisco since 2004, DiMarco's academic contributions parallel his professional ones. His educational background includes a law degree from the University of Southern California and a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Irvine.

DiMarco's appointment marks a strategic move for Agilent as the company seeks to bolster its legal expertise and navigate the complexities of the global market with seasoned leadership.
