About The Position
  • Provide strategic commercial and legal advice to Rakuten Advertising’s sales, client services, publisher, implementation, product, and operations teams on a variety of legal and compliance issues.
  • Analyse, draft and negotiate contracts with prospects, customers, and vendors, including master services agreements, confidentiality agreements, order forms, statements of work, RFPs etc.
  • Advise on and draft privacy related documentation (privacy / cookie policies, data sharing agreements etc.).
  • Ensure the business is informed and compliant with any relevant existing or proposed legislation that may impact the operations of the business.
Provide training to the business teams on contracts and compliance
  • Remain up to date on relevant changes in privacy, contract and advertising laws and regulations and turn them into sound commercial advice to the company.
  • Contribute to internal policy and process development.
About You
  • Need to have
  • JD and 4+ years of legal experience including at least 2 years in an in-house legal department. In-house experience in a technology or adtech company strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with consumer privacy laws and working knowledge of CCPA.
  • Experience in face to face contract negotiations and supporting sales, or operations at a technology company.
  • Prior experience counseling cross-functional teams
  • Organized, detail oriented, and a team player.
  • Ability to take ownership of matters and have a solution focussed approach
  • Ability to effectively prioritize
  • Able to manage quick turnaround times and work collegially with sales, client services and other teams.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written skills. Really clear, succinct and commercial in how you communicate your advice to the business.
  • Confident and collaborative communicator. Ability to guide and influence key stakeholders.
