Position Summary

Skymint Brands is seeking a corporate, transactional and real estate in-house paralegal. The paralegal provides support to Green Peak’s attorneys in the management and oversight of legal matters. This position provides advice and counsel to the company’s attorneys and will work with internal departments (e.g., Marketing, Operations and Production) on legal matters. The paralegal researches information; prepares, drafts and reviews transactional and real estate documents; assists with regulatory matters and filings; and processes incoming issues and matters. The paralegal occasionally handles a limited amount of litigation-related work. The paralegal will work closely with internal and on occasion outside counsel to ensure matters are set up and handled effectively. They will collaborate with internal Green Peak functions to gather and provide information to and communicate with various departments.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Reviews legal documents to ensure accuracy
  • Collaborates with other internal Green Peak functions on various legal matters to resolve issues collectively, effectively, and thoroughly and in a timely manner
  • Prepares reports to track and monitor progress of legal matters to support the internal legal department
  • Takes on special projects and other assignments and participates in various committees to support the legal, compliance and governmental affairs departments and overall business as required
  • The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of law firm or in house legal experience in the following areas: corporate formation documents, qualifications, mergers and dissolutions; corporate due diligence; tracking and maintaining multiple entities, corporate records; organizing and assisting with corporate transactions and closings; initial drafting of basic corporate and real estate documents, resolutions and various agreements and preparing closing checklists and binders; researching real property records and databases; reviewing title commitments and drafting title review letters; researching and reviewing zoning ordinances. Familiarity with trademarks, SEC filings, mergers and acquisitions and securities work a plus. 


Qualifications

  • Detail Oriented: Paralegal must pay consistent attention to detail; efficiently draft agreements, amendments, other transactional documents and communications consistent with a style guide, using consistent language and proper grammar; and take pride in his/her work product, which must be substantially free of errors.
  • Communication Skills: Paralegal must communicate in a concise, professional and business-like manner with Green Peak attorneys and other department directors, as well as vendors, among others.
  • Team Oriented: Paralegal must be able to function in a team-oriented environment, sharing ideas and collaborating to maximize results, and be prepared to cover and/or assist others at times to ensure business continuity. He/She will regularly be required to work independently, though, with minimal supervision and will be expected to achieve high-quality results.
  • Investigation and Research Skills: Paralegal must be proficient in identifying appropriate sources of information, conducting research and soliciting and gathering information.
  • Organizational Skills: Paralegal must be skilled at time management, follow-through, and organizing and tracking a significant number of matters notwithstanding distractions, interruptions and changing priorities (which requires flexibility and an openness to change).
  • Analytical Skills: Paralegal must demonstrate basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and / or Paralegal Certification
  • Experience in corporate, commercial contract, regulatory, real estate and trademark and branding legal matters.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Proficient in redlining and document review
  • DocuSign experience
