What you will be doing:

  • Work closely with Podium's Payments/Financial Services-related teams in product roadmap and development, compliance, fraud and risk management, and other legal aspects related to Podium's financial services offerings
  • Support cross-functional teams to shape and improve Podium's contracting policies and processes, compliance, and training to enable both legal and business functions to scale effectively
  • Advise stakeholders regarding relevant issues and risks related to our products/services and roadmap, and ensure our terms, documentation, and agreements reflect our internal corporate policies and processes
  • Support business teams in structuring transactions, and drafting and negotiating agreements with customers, partners, and vendors, including all forms of product, services, procurement, and technology agreements
  • Support general legal initiatives, working closely with other members of the Legal team, Security/Privacy teams, and others on critical company projects

What you should have:

  • Undergraduate and Juris Doctor from highly regarded schools and member of a state bar
  • 2-4 years combined legal experience in a software company, financial/payments services-related technology company, and/or in a law firm counseling rapid-growth technology companies
  • Strong transactional experience negotiating customer and vendor agreements
  • Strong compliance experience, particularly in the financial/payments services-related industry
  • Experience creating and scaling processes, policies, and systems to help streamline, simplify, and automate for a rapidly growing company
  • Sound and practical legal and business judgment with the ability to assess risks and communicate those risks to business partners clearly
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and negotiation skills with a highly responsive and service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • A solution-oriented mindset - the ability and willingness to know what's important and to collaborate to get it done.
