To develop and implement an operational approach to process improvement in the Legal & Corporate Affairs Department The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of success with hands-on execution in developing and implementing technologies procedures and processes and policies to meet business needs globally.
The primary functions for which this person is responsible are developing a strategic vision of Legal & Corporate Affairs development (aligned with the Legal Leadership Team, implementation and execution of strategic law department objectives with a focus on functional excellence and productivity, legal information technology, and communications and administration.
This leadership role will work closely with Chief Legal Officer to lead, coordinate, and execute on LCO department and strategic planning. 


Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, based in Sunnyvale, CA, this position's essential duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Owning and continuing to develop technology solutions, collaboration, and departmental alignment.
  • Owning and continuing to develop data visualization solutions to track and report on key department and organizational metrics. Use analytical reporting to analyze and drive improvement opportunities.
  • Owning and continuing to develop the department-wide web portal to support cross-departmental communication, policy compliance, access to key legal department tools and templates, and to foster collaboration.
  • Helping to manage external spending via financial analysis, benchmarking, and proposing vendor alternatives, as well as negotiating agreements and alternative fee arrangements/discounts.
  • Providing creative thinking to help identify and develop cutting-edge strategies for increasing value and reducing outside legal spending while maintaining excellent legal representation and optimizing engagement practices with our law firms.
  • Supporting department planning by tracking and reporting on key department and organizational metrics.
  • Participating in and leading LCOs strategic planning process
  • Manage and lead departmental operational meetings such as quarterly all-hands, extended leadership team meetings, and CLOs staff meetings
  • Overseeing cross-functional legal projects
  • Coordinating and managing LCOs communications and training
  • Managing LCOs professional development objectives
  • Participate in industry benchmarking; to develop long-range plan legal ops and the Legal and Compliance Organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.A. required preferably in Business, IT, Finance or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience focusing on legal department operations.
  • Must have in-house experience with a global company demonstrating strong experience in the areas detailed above.
