What success looks like in this role:
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the company’s Litigation/Employment/Environmental teams and will manage discovery for the company’s ongoing litigation and investigations, with a focus on electronic discovery and preservation and collection of documents. Duties will include working closely with all departments of the company. The successful candidate will be tech savvy and possess a strong combination of legal, interpersonal, and IT skills.
Duties:
Assisting lawyers with all aspects of in-house eDiscovery, such as:
Drafting and issuance of hold orders
Taking steps to preserve data and other relevant documents
Interviews of and follow up with custodians
Collection and review of documents, both paper and electronic
Production of documents to outside counsel consistent with eDiscovery protocols
Organization and maintenance of systems to execute and track all of these items
Acting as primary point of contact with counsel and eDiscovery vendors on document collections and productions
Maintenance of an eDiscovery playbook
Assisting lawyers in litigation, including:
Overseeing litigation docket with particular responsibility for our asbestos cases, including:
File and docket maintenance, including maintenance of current case lists and other administrative charts
Calendaring of dates
Tracking discovery responses and drafting responses
Collecting and reviewing documents
Reporting claims to outside insurance carriers
Coordinating company responses to subpoenas, lawyer correspondence, as well as government and administrative complaints
Provide support for employment law function, including:
Responses to unemployment compensation claims
Analysis of job applicants’ restrictive covenants
Company training requirements and required employment posting/notices
Work closely with Legal Operations including with respect to e-billing and matter management
Provide support for employment law function, including:

Analysis of job applicants’ restrictive covenants

You will be successful in this role if you have:
BA degree or equivalent experience required
Experience as an in-house litigation paralegal
Significant experience with electronic document collection and e-discovery tools, and experience with employment/labor laws preferred
Familiarity with a broad range of software applications and solutions platforms and willingness to quickly learn new ones
Demonstrated experience working independently and simultaneously managing multiple workstreams
Effective at collaborating with business leaders and cross-functional teams
Duties will include working closely with all departments of the company.
Experience managing outside vendors
Strong organizational and communication skills required
Strong IT skills required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
Experience with the following technology tools preferred:
o Microsoft O365 Compliance Portal
o Legal Tracker/Serengeti
o Logikcull or similar cloud-based document review tool(s)
o Zapproved/OpenText Legal Hold software
o SharePoint
o Lexis-Nexis or Westlaw
