Position Details

  • Provide executive leadership, oversight, and direction of all legal matters, including contracts,
  • regulatory compliance, litigation, corporate governance, and law enforcement relations.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement legal strategies that align
  • with the organization's business goals and objectives.
  • Leverage experience in negotiating and closing on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic ventures to contribute to the organization's growth.
  • Perform the function of Corporate Secretary and advise both the CEO and the Board of
  • Directors on corporate governance-related matters, including best practices and maintenance of corporate records.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as industry regulations relevant to the company's operations.
  • Advise on complex legal issues related to business transactions, intellectual property, data privacy & security, employment, and other legal areas impacting the organization.
  • Lead and manage the legal team, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Represent the company's legal interests in negotiations, transactions, and interactions with external partners, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks and ensure ethical conduct.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company and recommend proactive strategies to address legal challenges.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, contributing to key decisions and initiatives that impact the organization's overall success

Education & Experience

  • Seasoned legal professional with a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution and a minimum of 15+ years of legal experience and 10+ years of executive leadership experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills required to initiate and develop productive working partnerships with all levels of management/ leadership and staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully negotiating and closing commercial business agreements, M&A, joint ventures, and other strategic ventures.
  • Deep experience with regulatory compliance and industry experience dealing with loss prevention
  • Ability to influence results, garner support, and tactfully manage complex relationships and influences within and across the organization.
  • Demonstrates customer service orientation and seeks to understand customer requirements and exercise judgment in meeting their expectations, particularly when there are differences of opinions on needs and services, unanticipated contingencies, or divergence of ideas/perspectives.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, persuasion, consulting, team building, and negotiation skills.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of ecoATM

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align legal strategies with overall business goals.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal issues to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of providing effective legal counsel on business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performance legal teams.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of legal and ethical conduct.
  • Experience with private equity-backed companies is preferred.

Business Travel: 10%

Location: Remote within the United States

Base Salary: $350,000 - $400,000 (annually) * This position will also be eligible for an annual bonus and short-term and long-term incentives based on individual and company performance. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per CA SB 1162 (“CA Pay Transparency Law”). Base pay information is based on market location.
