You will safeguard our reputation by guaranteeing that the company follows legal guidelines and consult with management team about all relevant issues. The successful candidate will be able to ensure legal compliance and limit risk exposure, providing expert and strategic legal guidance to the CEO and other key stakeholders.   Responsibilities:  

  • Provide leadership & counsel to VAI Resort and manage external legal resources.
  • Offer expert and strategic legal advice to the CEO and Executive Team and assist in decision-making processes that influence the future direction of the company.
  • Participate in the formulation of the company's strategy and business planning from a legal perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws applicable to our operations, with a focus on the entertainment and hospitality industries.
  • Manage litigation risks and oversee any legal proceedings involving the company.
  • Advise on employment law matters and assist in the development of company policies.
  • Oversee risk management, insurance claims and safety for the overall resort.
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its affiliates.

  The Ideal Candidate:

  • A minimum of 10 years of legal experience, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house experience, within the entertainment and/or hospitality industries.
  • Proven track record of navigating complex legal issues and business strategy.
  • General litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the nuances of contract law, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with an ability to engage and advise senior management on legal and risk management issues.

  Education/Experience:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Arizona or ability to obtain within 6 months

  Position Specifics:

  • Salary, exempt management role
  • Salary range: $200,000 - $250,000
