Contractbook Has Raised $30M in Series B funding led by Tiger Global. The Denmark-based contract automation company raised $9.3M four months ago and has plans to "lead the revolt against the PDF". More here

DLA Piper Sets the Standard for Associate Pay Scale - other notable law firms have followed suit, but none are paying first-year associates more than $190,000, the amount paid by DLA Piper. More here

Utah Sandbox allows two programs with non-lawyers to give legal advice on medical debt. Community Health Worker and, Medical Debt Diversion are the second and third pilots to receive approval. More here

The California State Bar is considering its own sandbox, but is divided over whether to limit new legal service delivery models to organizations that serve low-income clients or broaden the scope. More here.

Dechert Partners with Ideo to put together an innovation program. The global law firm's program is designed to strengthen the firm's innovation and drive firm-wide improvements to their business model. More here

Colonial Pipeline is said to have paid $5M ransom to hackers after a ransomware attack that forced it to shut down. EFF provides an overview of this attack which is increasingly targeting law firms. More here.
