Legal Counsel - Corporate & Treasury

Your primary role as Legal Counsel – Corporate & Treasury will be to support Bunge’s business in all its facets, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, ensuring ongoing business needs are met and comply with law, and coordinating corporate and treasury work globally with a focus on Europe and more specifically, the Netherlands and Bunge’s holding company located there, Koninklijke Bunge B.V. (KBBV).

You will act as trusted advisor to KBBV and Bunge’s broader business in any and every aspect when in need of corporate and treasury legal aid. By virtue of your pro-active personality, your global perspective and zeal for working across several diverse time zones, and your ability to work with utmost sense of integrity and autonomy, you will facilitate and drive Bunge’s international needs and ambitions.


The Trusted Advisor we are looking for:

Your primary responsibility will be managing a diverse demand of daily responsibilities such as drafting and reviewing of various agreements like ISDA agreements, managing KBBV’s operating subsidiaries from a corporate and treasury legal perspective, and coordinating Bunge’s global Treasury team.

Providing overviews of legal documentation to external auditors, filling originals and scanned copies, uploading in internal database and review of Terms and Conditions/Terms of Business will also become part of your daily tasks. Lastly, to play your part in “One Bunge” initiative, we expect you to foster international legal collaboration together with your legal colleagues across the world and work in different time zones.

Additional corporate activities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with internal governance structures and applicable Dutch law;
  • Assisting with restructurings, mergers, acquisitions, liquidations, incorporation, refinancing projects, and ongoing capitalizations;
  • Arranging signatures, legalizations, and apostilles required under Dutch law;
  • Scheduling, preparing, attending (virtually or in-person) and taking minutes at Quarterly Board Meetings of Bunge Netherlands entities; and
  • Arranging registrations at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.

Additional treasury activities include:

  • Drafting of intercompany loan and deposit agreements, loan notes, termination letters, interest notification letters and other financial transaction documents;
  • Responding to KYC requests;
  • Negotiating ISDA agreements; and
  • Coordinating with Treasury team and inside & outside counsel on Treasury projects.

We would like to see that you have built excellent presentation and facilitation skills so far in your career. We will recognize a perfect fit in the candidate whose mastery in negotiating and advising can add value to Bunge. Furthermore, you bring:


  • A university degree in law;
  • 10+ years of legal experience at a law firm or in-house or a combination thereof;
  • Hands-on experience in corporate/commercial practice areas; and
  • Fluent English language skills, and preferably other language skills (Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, etc.).
