Dollar Tree, Inc. Welcomes Jonathan Leiken as Chief Legal Officer and Secretary

Dollar Tree, Inc. has announced a significant addition to its esteemed executive leadership team. Jonathan Leiken has been appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Secretary of Dollar Tree, Inc. With this appointment, Mr. Leiken brings over 20 years of legal expertise and a diverse corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial litigation background.

Mr. Leiken’s most recent role was at Diebold Nixdorf, Inc., a global technology company, where he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Secretary. Before that, he demonstrated his legal acumen as a partner at Jones Day’s renowned law firm. His public service experience includes serving as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (Criminal Division).

Rick Dreiling, Chairman and CEO of Dollar Tree, Inc., expressed his enthusiasm about Mr. Leiken’s arrival. He stated, “Jon is a seasoned attorney and business leader with proven expertise across several industries, including the retail and financial sectors. His credentials, from corporate governance and law to regulatory compliance and commercial litigation, make him uniquely suited for this role.”

Mr. Leiken, a distinguished legal professional, holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Brandeis University. His commitment to civic engagement is evident through his role as the president of The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland and as an adjunct law professor at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
